Iberdrola Renewables, Inc. is a leading clean energy developer, owner and operator, headquartered in Portland, Oregon. Its businesses include wind power facility generation, operation and construction, biomass cogeneration, natural gas generation and storage, solar power generation and energy management services. It's wholly owned by Iberdrola Renovables, the world's largest renewable energy firm.

Iberdrola Renewables sees a major role for biomass generation as it continues to expand its renewable energy generation capacity across the U.S. Iberdrola Renewables' proposed biomass power projects generate power from wood waste biomass produced by the pulping process or agricultural and forest management activities. Utilizing this type of biomass improves forest health, reduces waste and can decrease overall greenhouse gas emissions.

Iberdrola Renewables currently purchases 55 MW of biomass power from the Simpson Tacoma Kraft Co. plant in Tacoma, WA and manages transmission and delivery of renewable energy to the Sacramento Municipal Utility District. In Lake County, OR, Iberdrola Renewables is currently developing a 24 MW biomass plant. The plant will use the by-products from the Collins Lakeview sawmill, as well as the residuals from forest management activities on their Forest Stewardship Council-certified forestland, other private forestlands, and public lands.
